The Ladder League will not be held this year.

1. The Liguanea Chess Club Ladder league ran for 24 weeks starting January 30, 2015. at 10:00 a.m. The ladder league is a tournament format that affords significant flexibility. A major advantage over Swiss type tournaments is that players can play whenever it is convenient to them. Players can play rated games without having to sacrifice an entire weekend. Players may play a rated game of two and a half hours on one day and not play another game until the next month for instance. Players also have the option of playing all the rounds or any number of rounds selected. The opportunity that this tournament offers, which enable players to play so many rated games in a short period, is unprecedented in Jamaica. I believe Jamaica will produce much stronger players as a result of this fact.

2. There are three sections (a). Open (b). High School (c). Primary/Preparatory. The Primary/Prep includes an unrated capture the King section.
3. Games will be played at Liguanea Chess Club, 32 Hope Road Kingston 10 (Liberty Academy).

Top schools are determined in the following manner: 50% is based on performance (number of points amassed and 50% based on the number of players entering from the school)
